Leaving behind the publishing universe, Heidi Lender picked up a DSLR and never looked back. "Self Time" will feature work from three series: Once Upon, Green Dress and She Can Leap Tall Buildings. Heidi appears as the model in all three series in various dress to convey a story. Witty and beautiful, all the images in the exhibition examine wardrobes and surrounding spaces as a reflection of who we are or who we purport to be. Join us for the opening reception on Friday, May 18th from 6 to 9 P.M.

Lust is a passionate or overwhelming desire. People lust for power, money, objects. You can have a lust for life or an intense and eager enthusiasm. And of course, there is sexual lust. This exhibit is juried by David Bram of Fraction Magazine. Join us for the opening reception on Friday, March 23rd from 6 to 9 P.M.

Recently, I found myself in a very dark space but there was one perfect organic place that I could retreat to as an antidote. The work explores that impulse to escape both physically and mentally from the gray and deafening confines to the city with a camera in tow.

Jeff Rich’s work shows the constant change that occurs within the watershed of the French Broad River due to man's presence, as well as natural causes such as floods and erosion.

"Precious Things" will feature the work of four photographers: Heidi Kirkpatrick, Jefferson Hayman, Lori Vrba and Lisette de Boisblanc that all create small, intimate objects....

Lori Vrba is an award winning, fine art photographer who is committed to film and her own traditional print- making. Her tough Texas upbringing and unconventional path into photography and the darkroom has shaped who she is as an artist. Her emotionally evocative work has been widely published, exhibited and collected, both nationally and internationally.

Why has instant film been able to survive in the digital age? What is it about the material that captures people's imagination and interest? Polaroid gave up on the material a few years ago, but since then, there has been a resurggent interest in the material.

Many contemporary photographers are going back to the oldest photographic processes to capture modern subjects in a historic medium. Using these slow and labor-intensive processes, photographers are finding the power of a medium that forces a collaboration with the subject and creates stunning images with an ethereal, haunting quality.

Outlands: Land Over Time showcases the different uses and conditions of land and related built environment outside an urban setting. Focused on how the land has been cultivated, neglected or exploited, this exhibition is an attempt to trace how Americans’ approach and their stance in relation to land has changed over the past 50 years - from large corporate farms to family-owned, from tightly controlled chemical induced farming, to the more organic and sustainable.
